Did you know you can watch the Expansion Project’s day-to-day progress on the Expansion Cam? The test piles (steel support beams that are pounded down into the bedrock) were successfully installed, and now real pile driving has begun. Once completed, the expansion will provide spaces for intimate performances, informal gatherings, education and community-based programming, and interactions between artists and audiences.

America’s immortal Motown hit-maker in How Sweet It Is: A Tribute to Marvin Gaye on Sun., June 5 in the Concert Hall.
Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, the gala performance is headlined by multi-Grammy® Award-winning artist Michael Bublé, and features a talented, all-star cast including Andra Day, Ledisi, and Jussie Smollett, star of the FOX hit show, Empire. From May 17–June 5, 2016, the Kennedy Center presents IRELAND 100: Celebrating a Century of Irish Arts & Culture, a major festival highlighting Irish culture and its relationship to America. Curated by Alicia Adams, Vice President of International Programming and Dance, the festival includes dozens of performances from some of Ireland’s best contemporary musicians, dancers, and theater companies as well as literature panels, documentary film screenings, culinary events, installations, and workshops. Plus, the North Plaza transforms into a picnic area during the festival with artificial grass, tables and chairs, and a small platform for short performances.
