Biography

Klea Blackhurst recently starred in The Goodspeed Opera’s 50th Anniversary production of Hello, Dolly!. Prior to that, she created the role of Miss Lemon in the Marvin Hamlisch/Rupert Holmes musical The Nutty Professor directed by Jerry Lewis. Theatre credits include: NY- A Tree  Grows in Brooklyn, Bingo, By Jupiter, Radio Gals, Oil City Symphony; Regional – Call Me Madam, Chicago, Red Hot and Blue, Anything Goes and the 2012 critically acclaimed Drury Lane production of Gypsy in Chicago. TV/radio: “Onion News Network,” “L&O: SVU,”  “Sesame Street,” “A Prairie Home Companion.” Klea is known for her tribute to Ethel Merman, Everything The Traffic Will Allow. Concert appearances include The London Palladium  (Jerry Herman’s Broadway with Angela Lansbury,) The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s tribute to Leonard Bernstein, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the BBC Proms concert of Oklahoma! in London’s Royal Albert Hall. Klea is a Distinguished Alumna of The University of Utah and a member of Trinity Boxing Club NYC.
