Elizabeth Cusato Schnobrick



Biography

Elizabeth Cusato Schnobrick came to the National Symphony Orchestra as Associate Librarian in 2009. Prior to joining the National Symphony, Elizabeth was Associate Principal Librarian of the Utah Symphony and Opera for four seasons, from 2005 to 2009, and Head Librarian at the Glimmerglass Festival, in Cooperstown, NY for 9 summers. She was Interim Associate Principal Librarian of the Detroit Symphony for the 2004 - 2005 season. During the 2002 - 2004 seasons, Elizabeth was Librarian of The Haddonfield Symphony (now Symphony in C), Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, and assistant to the librarian for Opera Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. 

Elizabeth currently serves on several committees for the Major Orchestra Librarians' Association, and from 2005 through 2008 wrote a quarterly column for Marcato, the Journal of the Major Orchestra Librarians' Association. 

Originally from Alaska, Elizabeth began her music life as an oboist. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University and taught 4th - 12th grade band and orchestra for several years in Washington State and Pennsylvania before becoming an orchestra librarian.
