Brad Haak



Biography

Brad Haak's Broadway credits include 6 years as the music director for Disney's Mary Poppins, Elton John's Lestat, and most recently, Il Divo - A Musical Affair. He has conducted national tours of Disney's The Lion King and Miss Saigon. As music supervisor and orchestrator for composer Paul Gordon: 14 U.S. and 4 international productions of Daddy Long Legs, Jane Eyre in Tokyo, and Little Miss Scrooge (all with director John Caird) as well as Jane Austen's Emma, and the upcoming Sense and Sensibility. Highlights of the more than 30 regional productions Brad has helmed include his critically acclaimed collaborations with director Gary Griffin at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, which garnered a Jeff Award for music direction (2011's Follies) and a nomination (2012's Sunday in the Park with George.) Concert highlights include collaborations with Audra McDonald, Kristen Chenoweth, Dick Van Dyke, and Sir Paul McCartney; also providing orchestrations to the New York Pops, Boston Pops, National Symphony, and LA Philharmonic. Upcoming: An American in Paris with director/choreographer Christopher Wheeldon at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Brad first conducted Children of Eden at his alma mater, Northwestern University, in 2002 and again at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. in 2004.
