Louis Pecourt


Louis Pecourt was a French dancer, choreographer and dance master. In 1671, he made his debut as a dancer at the Court Theatre, Tuileries in Paris and at the Paris Opera in the ballet Cadmus. Pecourt became a leading dancer with the Paris Opera, creating many roles in works by Lully (composer) and Beauchamps (choreographer). These works include Le Triomphe de l'amour, Le Temple de la paix, and Armide.

Pecourt was noted for his precision, lightness and grace.
