ClancyWorks Dance Company

The ClancyWorks Dance Company is comprised of performing artists directed by Adrienne Clancy. The members of the Company have more than 20 years of dance and choreographic experiences and have held major choreographic, performance, and administrative positions in numerous nationally recognized companies, festivals, and universities. ClancyWorks is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in various communities by using the arts as a vehicle to develop mutual understanding and to advance positive social action.
The company's work is particularly notable for its exploration of architecturally informed partnering work. The unique partnering work is not only an aesthetic statement, but also a source of powerful images that embrace diversity and exemplify trust.  The company's outstanding skill lies in its ability to combine physically demanding, powerful movement with the sensitive portrayal of cultural nuances and personal emotions.  The Washington Post has described Adrienne Clancy as a "wizard of invention," and her choreography as "a tour de force of unpredictable partnering."
Now in their 15th season, ClancyWorks has performed for more than 41,000 audience members throughout Maryland, D.C., Virginia, New Mexico, New York, Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Georgia, North Carolina, and Mississippi as well as in England and Colombia. Current projects for the Company include: presenting national and local performances; conducting numerous workshops to participants of all ages and all levels of ability at national conferences, universities, and public and private schools K-12. ClancyWorks Dance Company is honored to partner with the DEA Youth Dance Program, a division of the DEA Education Foundation, since its inception and previously with the D.A.R.E. Dance Program, working together to provide high quality educational programming to underserved youth.
