Chandra Cervantes


A graduate of both Northwestern University and San Francisco Conservatory, Chandra Cervantes studied with David Krehbiel, Dale Clevenger, Bruce Roberts and Gail Williams. Chandra has held positions with The United States Army Field Band, Tulsa Philharmonic, Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony, and Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Now an active freelance musician in the Baltimore and D.C. areas, she is a member of the Washington Symphonic Brass and Inscape, a Grammy nominated chamber ensemble committed to presenting emerging American composers.

Chandra performs regularly with National Symphony Orchestra, Washington National Opera, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and several other groups throughout the region. In 2012 and 2013 she toured with the National Symphony Orchestra to South America, Europe, and Oman, as well as Carnegie Hall.

Her recent recordings include three with the Washington Symphonic Brass: Classic Rock for Brass, Home for the Holidays and Trumpets Ring! Voices Sing!. In December of 2013 she recorded Marcos Galvany's internationally successful new opera Oh My Son, and can be heard on Inscape's latest recording, a new version of Petrushka, which released in fall 2015.
