Biography

The McLean Youth Orchestra (MYO) is the premier youth orchestra in the Washington, D.C., region, offering gifted young musicians a challenging repertoire, opportunities to work with professional musicians, and excited travel opportunities not found with any other youth orchestra. Founded in 1983, the MYO is the youth arm of the McLean Orchestra, a prestigious symphony orchestra serving the Northern Virginia community. MYO was created to provide the finest possible musical education to students who represent the future of classical music in the community. Designed for musically advanced students age, MYO offers the serious music student the opportunity to play in an accomplished orchestra while further developing their musical skills.

The McLean Youth Orchestra (MYO) presents a concert version of Mozart’s dramatic opera, Don Giovanni. John Devlin will conduct the honor-level MYO, who will be joined by soloists Mandy Brown (Anna), Elizabeth Mondragon (Elvira), Jeffrey Gates (Don Giovanni and Leporello), and Patrick Kilbride (Ottavio). The performance will also feature original narration by the acclaimed dramaturg Robin Phillips.
