William Wasson



Biography

After starting his musical studies in the Los Angeles public school system, William Wasson received his Bachelor's degree from Indiana University, where he studied with Bruce Bransby. He then went on to study with Peter Lloyd at the Colburn Conservatory, taking a year off to serve as Principal Bass of the San Antonio Symphony before ultimately completing a Professional Studies Certificate. Additional studies followed at the University of Southern California as a student of David Moore.

During his time in Los Angeles, Wasson performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. As a student, he attended the Aspen Music Festival, New York String Orchestra Seminar, and the academy at Le Domaine Forget in Quebec. He has performed in the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, and received an Honorable Mention in the International Society of Bassists’ Composition Competition.
