Alice Ripley



Biography

Alice Ripley is one of the most versatile actresses working today. From Molly Ivors in the groundbreaking and Tony Award-winning musical play James Joyce’s The Dead to Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show, her list of varied roles during her ten year career on Broadway is topped by Tony and Drama Desk nominations for her critically acclaimed performance as Violet Hilton in the cult hit SideShow. She has created the Broadway roles of Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard, the Specialist’s Assistant in and The Who’s Tommy, and Bathsheba in King David, as well as having a long stay at the Imperial Theatre as Fantine in Les Miserables. Her two most notable recordings are Duets and Unsuspecting Hearts (Fynsworth Alley), teaming up on both with her SideShow companion Emily Skinner. Ms. Ripley is a performing songwriter and opened for Leon Russell in 2001. She recently released her debut solo album, Everything’s Fine on the Sh-K-Boom label.
