Ben Arnold Band

Biography

Ben Arnold has been playing some of the most soulful sounds in and around Philadelphia for the last 15 years. His lyrics bring to mind early John Hiatt, Mose Allison and Lowell George. People say he sings a bit like Randy Newman or Joe Cocker, but embeds a hook like Springsteen used to do in the '80s. His more recent songs explore strong emotions while the music draws on blues, gospel, folk-rock and a few other genres in between.

He has written and co-produced many of his own six-plus major label and independent releases as well as with other projects 4 Way Street, US Rails and Pistol For Ringo. A long time WXPN favorite, he has appeared twice on The World Cafe, Free At Noon and Mountain Stage as well as numerous live appearances around the region, the West Coast and Europe. He plays guitar, piano, sings, records and collaborates with many other well known artists from Philadelphia and beyond.

Bandmates include Matt Kass, Guitar, Phil D'Agostino, Bass, Jimmy Coleman, Drums, and Lee Schusterman, Hammond Organ.
