Biography

Regarded as a cultural calling card of the city of Shenzhen, in Southern China, Lily Children’s Choir was founded in 1997 and comprises of students from Shenzhen Senior High School with remarkable music talent, profound affection for choral music and good performance from all aspects. For years, with generous support from the municipal government of Shenzhen, the choir promotes ethnic music with an aim for cultural exchange. The Choir serves as a bridge networking with the rest of the world with their heavenly singing and down to earth attitude. The Choir has won prizes in major choral competitions home and abroad and released several albums including Rainbow After Rain and The Collection of Chinese Folk Chorus.

The Choir has also toured extensively around the globe including Australian, Canada, Austria, Korean, UK, Spain, Germany, Serbia, North Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou. The tour was highlighted by two events: a critically acclaimed official visit to Pyongyang, Korea in 2008, and an appearance at the flag handover in Belgrade, Serbia on the closing ceremony of 25th World University Games.

Lily Children’s Choir is frequently engaged to perform in major concerts and charity events. A large number of conductors and orchestras enjoy collaboration with the choir including Chen Xieyang?Chen Zuohuang, Zhang Guoyong, Yu Feng, Christian Ehwald, Alain Pâris, Li Xincao, China National Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Ballet, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, China National Opera House, Shanghai Opera House, Macau Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.
