Artem Grishaev



Biography

Russian pianist Artem Grishaev is in his second year as a coach/accompanist in Washington National Opera's Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program. Last season with WNO, Mr. Grishaev served as Assistant Conductor for Così fan tutte. In the summer of 2012 he joined San Francisco's Merola Opera Program, and in 2009 he was a member of the Bolshoi Theatre's Young Artist Program. He has taken part in numerous productions with the Bolshoi Theatre and Moscow Philharmonic Society, including Die Fledermaus, Les contes d'Hoffmann, Les pêcheurs de perles, L'enfant et les sortilèges, Roméo et Juliette and La bohème. Mr. Grishaev earned a degree in piano performance from the Moscow State Conservatory in 2007. As a student, he won a grant from the Nicolai Petrov Foundation. He has taken part in several competitions, and his awards include second prize as soloist and first prize in piano duo at the Maria Yudina Competition (2002); a best accompanist diploma in the VI International Competition of String Performers (2002); and third prize in the International Piano Competition "Russian Season" (2005).
