April Ball


Born on a farm in Pennsylvania, April Ball began her dance training at the age of four.  Studying at Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, School of American Ballet, and later with coach Roberto Munoz.  She has been privileged to learn from masters as varied as Natalia Dudinskya, Tatiana Terekhova and Marcel Marceau.  After winning a gold medal at the Rudolf Nureyev Competition in Budapest, Hungary, and a silver medal at the IBC in Jackson, MS, Ms. Ball joined Boston Ballet from 1995 to 2003 having made her way to Principal in 2001.  Her repertoire includes nearly all the great classical ballets as well as contemporary works by new masters such as Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Mark Morris, and Paul Taylor.  Ms.Ball continues to perform to critical acclaim throughout South America, Europe, and the United States.  This is her first season with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet.
