Dance Metro DC

Dance Metro DC was established in 2005 as a branch of Dance/USA, in response to the DC dance community’s expressed need for sustained leadership and centralized services to strengthen dance in the DC metropolitan area. In March of 2011, Dance Metro DC established itself as an idependent service organization. The (then) Advisory Committee established a Board of Directors, incorporated in Washington, DC as a non-profit organization and in March 2012, submitted an application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

Since 2005 our guiding tenet has been to foster an environment for dance in the DC metropolitan area that is stable, inclusive, sustainable and evolutionary. We support the creating of dynamic dance and impactful dance education for audiences and participants in all kinds of movement.
