John Manzari



Biography

John Manzari, from Washington, D.C., is a 17 year-old recent graduate of The Field School, Class of 2010. He recently completed a run of Arena Stage's production of Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies starring Maurice Hines at the Lincoln Theater. In June 2010, he performed in New York at the Astaire Awards as part of the Lifetime Achievement Tribute honoring Kenny Ortega; the D.C. Jazz Fest at the Lincoln Theater; and appeared with Maurice Hines in The Young People's Chorus Benefit in New York. Prior to this, Manzari performed in Washington Ballet's Nutcracker and in American Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker; with Debbie Allen in her production of Brothers of the Knight at the Kennedy Center; and the world premiere of Walking the Winds: An Arabian Tale at the Kennedy Center. John Manzari has trained in dance throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. On the competition circuit, he has won numerous regional and national awards and top honors for his duo dance performances with his brother, Leo Manzari. He is honored to be invited back to the Kennedy Center.
