Shea Johnson



Biography



Shea Johnson (Corps de ballet) a native of Dallas, Texas, began his ballet training at a local school, and at age 14 accepted a full scholarship to the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet School. Three years later, Shea joined the Metropolitan Classical Ballet, where he was promoted to Principal Dancer. Shea also enjoyed freelance and competition opportunities.  He has taught as a guest artist throughout the U.S. and in Tokyo.  Shea participated in the 2006 Youth America Grand Prix in New York, and the 2008 World Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.  He has danced principal roles in Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Ib Andersen's The Nutcracker,  Raymonda and Jerome Robbins' In the Night.  He has originated roles by Ib Andersen in Cinderella, Topia, Diversions, and Symphonie Classique.  This is his first season with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet.
