Biography

Todd Schefflin and Jacob Webb are songwriters/musicians who founded The JT Project. Todd comes from Philadelphia, and Jacob hails from Kansas City. After meeting in 2007, they started writing music together, which eventually led to the formation of The JT Project in 2009. The JT Project has exponentially expanded into a musical collective, incorporating the most talented jazz and soul musicians in New York City. The members of the group have toured and recorded with major label legends such as Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Jaheim, Ashford and Simpson, Kenny Garrett, Joe, and Mulgrew Miller among many others. The JT Project has independently released four critically acclaimed albums: Love Passion Correspondence Vol. 1 (2009), Love Passion Correspondence Vol.2 (2012), Love Passion Correspondence Vol. 3 (2013), and now their latest release, Under The Covers, featuring the #5 Billboard  single “Jetsetter.” “Jetsetter” has broken new barriers and landed on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts, receiving terrestrial radio play all over the globe including Music Choice and SiriusXM. In 2014, The JT Project received The ASCAP Foundation  "Reach Out and Touch" Award in honor of Nick Ashford.  The JT Project received their award and performed the song "Daddy I Miss You" at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
