The New York–based Mivos Quartet presents a program exploring the unanswered question of Leonard Bernstein’s famous Harvard lectures: Whither music? The evening will include works by two composers discussed in Bernstein’s fifth lecture, Alban Berg and Igor Stravinsky, as well as pieces by Elliot Carter and D.C. native Jeffrey Mumford. The members of Mivos are violinists Olivia De Prato and Lauren Cauley, violist Victor Lowrie, and cellist Mariel Roberts.

In celebration of President Kennedy, this evening of music informed by the Civil Rights Movement includes performances by the Mivos Quartet with spoken word artist Saul Williams, David T. Little and his band Newspeak, and the American Contemporary Music Ensemble.
