J. Reilly Lewis



Biography

J. Reilly Lewis has been Music Director of the Cathedral Choral Society since 1985. A native of Washington, DC, he received his bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and graduate degrees from The Juilliard School of Music. He has conducted the Cathedral Choral Society several times at the Kennedy Center, has presided over many premiere performances with the ensemble, and appears in five of its current recordings. He is founding music director of the Washington Bach Consort and organist and choirmaster at Clarendon United Methodist Church in Arlington, VA. As a harpsichordist, pianist, and organist, Dr. Lewis has performed in this country and abroad, and he was the featured organ soloist at two recent NSO in Your Neighborhood concerts with the Cathedral Choral Society.
