Pamela Hentges



Biography

Pamela Hentges, assistant principal second violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra since 1997, was formerly principal second violinist with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. Ms. Hentges began studying violin at the age of four with George Perlman in Chicago. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Catholic University of America where she studied with Robert Gerle as a full scholarship student. She maintains a private studio in the Washington area and is active in the educational programs offered by the National Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she also coaches many violin candidates in their preparation for professional orchestral auditions. Ms. Hentges has been a member of many chamber music groups including the Oberon Quartet, the Richmond Symphony String Quartet, The Richmond Chamber Players, and the Fessenden Ensemble. She has also performed on the Millennium Stage as well as with the National Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in The Baroque Festival.
