Barbara Freeman finds that her work generally follows a nontraditional path, especially for the products that she crafts in ceramic. Clay is the medium that she is most attracted to, for its ability to go from shapeless mass to finished work. The connecting thread of her art communicates, on a very simple level, that this work has a different kind of value. She regards her artwork as out of the range of the mainstream, while maintaining design literacy. She equates this concept with how she feels living with attention deficit disorder. Freeman lives and works in Tujunga, California, and has exhibited throughout the state.
