R. Jane Bouchard explores the concept of waste within her artwork by transforming scrap metals into beautiful creations. Her art responds to the deconstruction of the Industrial Age and serves as a catalyst for the viewer to see the waste in our society as a place to begin, or to expand, one’s own recycling efforts. Bouchard hopes that the life experiences of those who view her work will enable them to respond to the concerns about society that she raises in her art. She finds that when she creates artwork, she loses herself in the creative process, thereby submerging the effects of her depression. Bouchard lives and works in Greenfield, New York, and has exhibited throughout her home state.
