The South African tenor, Sunnyboy Dladla, studied in his home country at the conservatories of Mpumalanga and Cape Town under Sidwill Hartman. Early on as a student he performed roles such as Don Basilio in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Prunier in Puccini's La rondine and Guillotin in Massenet's Manon in opera productions at his conservatory. In 2008 he sang Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Cape Town Opera, as well as Pong in Puccini's Turandot in the Arena di Verona. He sings regularly in concerts in South Africa. The most recent performance was alongside Renée Fleming at the City Hall in Cape Town. At the 2010 Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival he sang in Schumann's Missa sacra in C minor conducted by Christopher Hogwood. Since winter 2011, Sunnyboy Vincent Dladla has been studying at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck.
