Paul Pyant studied at RADA. He has long associations with The Royal Opera, ENO, Glyndebourne, NT, Donmar Warehouse, Almeida Theatre, English National Ballet and Northern Ballet. Theatre. Opera work abroad includes productions in the USA (including for the Metropolitan Opera, New York, and in Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston and San Francisco), Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan, Austria, Germany, Spain, Russia, Monte Carlo and Italy. He has lit Gawain, Boulevard Solitude, La clemenza di Tito, Stiffelio, Don Giovanni and The Minotaur for The Royal Opera. Recent engagements include Grief (NT), Noises Off (Old Vic and Novello Theatre), Making Noise Quietly (Donmar), Uncle Vanya (Vaudeville Theatre), Antony and Cleopatra (Chichester Festival), A Provincial Life (National Theatre Wales), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Imago (Glyndebourne), Der Rosenkavalier (Bolshoi, Moscow) and Xerxes and Die Zauberflöte (San Francisco).
