American bass Peter Volpe was last seen at WNO as Mr. Flint in the WNO premiere of Britten's Billy Budd (2004). He has also appeared in Der Rosenkavalier (1995), Werther (1990), and The Merry Wives of Windsor (1989). He possesses a vast and ever-expanding repertoire of over 80 roles in six languages. He has also made a recent foray into the Wagnerian repertoire, having recently performed the role of Hunding in Act I if Die Walkure with the American Symphony Orchestra at Bard College, an all-Wagner concert with North Carolina Opera, and the role of Daland in The Flying Dutchman at The Glimmerglass Festival. This season's other engagements include Philip II in Don Carlo with Vancouver Opera and Austin Lyric Opera, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor with Portland Opera, and Bass Soloist in the Verdi Requiem with the New Jersey Symphony.
