Valerie Tellmann-Henning (Corps de Ballet) began her training at Tulsa Ballet and Lexington Ballet. She attended the Richmond Ballet's trainee program and was promoted into the full company in 2000. She has performed principal roles in both classical and contemporary productions including Giselle, Romeo and Juliet and Cinderella. While dancing with the Richmond Ballet she has danced leading roles in many Balanchine's Valse Fantasie, Liebeslieder Waltzer, Concerto Barocco, Allegro Brillante, and The Four Temperaments and has performed in Anthony Tudor's Jardin Aux Lilas, John Butler's Carmina Burana and Agnes de Mille's Rodeo and A Rose For Miss Emily. Working with many current contemporary choreographers, she has originated roles with Ma Cong, Jessica Lang, Gina Patterson, Mauricio Wainrot, Val Caniparoli, William Soleau, Phillip Neal, and Malcolm Burn. She has spent summers performing with Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance in Asheville, North Carolina and National Choreographers Initiative in Irvine, California. She is a current member of the Richmond Ballet and looks forward to her second season dancing alongside her newly wedded husband Kirk Henning.  Valerie joined The Suzanne Farrell Ballet in 2013.
