A Minnesota native with a background in theology, singer/songwriter Peter Mayer began touring full-time in 1995 after honing his skills in the local market. As a solo artist he performs over 130 shows a year, at colleges, coffeehouses, and concert venues throughout the United States.
MayerÆs numerous accolades include a 1998 Minnesota Music Award nomination for Best Folk Artist and a past nomination for Best Male Songwriter. He was also twice selected as a finalist in the Telluride Festival Songwriter Competition, chosen runner-up in the 1998 competition, and was a finalist at the 1998 Lyons Folk Festival Songwriting Competition. His first album, Uncrowded Sky, was nominated for Best Folk Album of the year by the Minnesota Music Academy. His collected works have now sold over 20,000 copies and his music has been heard on Public Radio, AAA, and Americana radio stations throughout the country.
