Joseph Mills


Joseph Mills is an Assistant Professor of Dance in the Department of Theater and Dance at the George Washington University. Joseph is a former soloist with MOMIX Dance Theater and The Erick Hawkins Dance Company, and has been performing and making dances for the past 20 years: originally as a contributing company member, and for the past 10 years as an independent artist. Most recently, Joseph has been collaborating with fellow faculty member Mary Buckley, and longtime mentor, friend and colleague at University of Maryland, Alcine Wiltz. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Joseph received his doctoral degree in Dance from Temple University in 1998, with his dissertation titled, The Fungus Among Us: Pilobolus Dance Theater in Multiple Perspectives. In 2001, Joseph will be joining the Faculty of the Theater Department at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
