Born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, Narumi has been internationally represented as the leader of the one of the best crews in Japan "Body Carnival", and also the core member of the world famous Japanese bgirl crew "Qween of Qweenz".

In her 13 year career as a bgirl, Narumi has been extremely disciplined and has thus achieved numerous titles. Starting with her USA training trip in 2002-2003, she accumulated a number of wins.  She received a prestigious award of “best bgirl of the year 2009” and is recognized by the bboy and bgirl community as the world's best bgirl. Promoters and event organizers around the world invite her to be a guest battler.

She has continued her success winning solo and with her crew, with titles includes IBE Bgirl Crew Battle 2008 and 2009 in Holland, HIPHOP CONNECTON Crew Battle 2011 in Italy, Hipopsession 2vs2 in France, OPTIMUM DANCE CONTEST 2012 in France, Culture Shock 2013 3vs3 in Taiwan, World Street Dance 2013 Crew Battle in France, 1st prize of showcase and 2nd prize of crew battle in R16 WORLD FINAL in Korea, and more.

Although she put most  of her focus on battle, she has been active also as an instructor, judge, and performer. In 2009, her two week long workshop in a hip-hop school in Sweden was such a success that it caught the eyes of local mass media, many magazines, and newspapers.
Narumi is very popular in Japan with her very own style, philosophy, and non-female like dynamic moves. Her domestic highlights, besides countless battles, includes the finalist of “JAPAN DANCE DELIGHT” (2008, 2009, 2010), 2nd prize of “OSAKA DANCE DELIGHT 2009“, and many more.

Since 2010, Narumi has been advancing her career international as a judge in the USA, France, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and more. Narumi is currently crossing her artistic boundary by collaborating with artists of various genres. One example is through stage shows including Universal Studio Japan, and non-verbal performance "Gear" in Osaka.

Narumi also has a strong passion for her volunteer activities. Her experiences include the free workshop in the carehouse and schools in the Philippines, and hospitals and care facilities in Japan.

Narumi will always keep challenging, and inspiring the dance community with her flavor made in the ancient city of Kyoto.

Video 4/12/2014: Words Beats & Life Presents Top Notch – B-boy/B-girl Battle

At 6 p.m., b-boys and b-girls demonstrate their skills in circles and give lessons. Competing for cash prizes, the dance battle’s preliminary rounds begin at 7 p.m. with the final rounds beginning at 8 p.m. The battle, hosted by Silver Spring, Maryland lyricist Trus Real and New York b-boy Kwikstep, includes judges such as hip-hop artist Narumi from Japan, DC area b-boy Toyz aRe Us, and pioneering New York b-girl Rokafella with DJ Fleg and DJ RBI on the turntables. Interested in competing?
