Biography

The Smooth & EZ (SEZ) Hand Dance Performing Arts Troupe is recognized as the oldest, largest, and best Hand Dance Performing Arts Troupe in the Washington, DC area.

The SEZ Dance Troupe has performed locally for government and community organizations, as well as along the east coast from Massachusetts to Georgia.  The Troupe has competed in numerous competitions as well; the competition circuit has proven to be an essential venue for promoting Hand Dance, fortifying individual style development, expression, and awareness.

This unique style of performance and teaching method have been so widely received that it is the sole  responsibility of the group for having Hand Dance declared the “official” DANCE of Washington, DC.

The performances not only proven entertaining, but also demonstrate proper execution of this style of dance.  A complete performance can extend to a full 50 minutes, including general couple dancing, trio, and quadruple partnering, synchronized routines, youth performances, latest specialty, line dances, and audience participation.

The “old school” style performance dazzles the audience with an up-beat tempo and intricate footwork.  This style tends to be nostalgic for the groups more seasoned followers, while at the same time attracting a more youthful crowd.

Their smoother, more elegant style of dance allows for the more seasoned followers realize that they too can enjoy participating in this art form.

“We are guaranteed to get the party started, be your main event or the finishing touch to a wonderful celebration,” the dance troupe claims.  They are available for all types of activities including, but are not limited to, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, weddings, promotions, fundraisers, benefits, workshops, graduations, and inaugurations.
