Tadej Horvat



Biography

Pianist Tadej Horvat started with piano lessons with Milica Rener-Poljanec and later graduating at the Secondary Music and Ballet School in Ljubljana under prof. Majda Martinc. At the Music Academy in Ljubljana he studied with prof. Dubravka Tomši? – Srebotnjak. He recently finished his postgraduate studies in Bern/Switzerland with professor Aleksandar Madžar. He has performed in master classes with Igor Laszko, Tomaž Lorenz, and Andrej Petra? and holds prizes and awards from several competitions including: the 1998, 2001, and 2004 Competition of Young Musicians of the Republic of Slovenia; 2002 ‘Etudes and Scales Competition in Zagreb; the 2002 Škerjanec Award; and the 2004 Prešeren Award. Horvat has performed as a soloist with Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, RTV Symphony Orchestra, Secondary Music School of Ljubljana Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra SNG Ljubljana. In 2008 he became the conductor of Divertimento Magazine Orchestra. He is an accompanist and professor of piano at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet as well as the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and is a highly sought after collaborator for chamber recitals internationally.
