“Pershing’s Own” Contemporary Music Ensemble was founded in 2010 as an element from The United States Army Band dedicated to performing the music of our time and commissioning new works for chamber ensemble. Fashioned after the classic “Pierrot Ensemble,” the core members hail from some of the finest musical institutions in the world. The ensemble recently presented the Washington, D.C. premiere of Thomas Albert’s “Night Music” and is honored to perform the world premiere of Andrew Edwards’ “The Glacier Sequence” at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage on February 6, 2011.
