Violinist Anja Bukovec was born in Slovenia, where she started to learn violin with Professor Vildana Repše. At the age of 13, she continued her schooling at the Music Conservatorium in Prague with Professor Jaroslav Foltyn. Two years later she passed the admittance exam with Professor Igor Ozim. Under his tutelage, she continued her studies in Vienna and at the School of Higher Musical Education in Köln where she graduated in 2001. Soon afterwards she completed her post-graduate studies with Professor Vasilij Meljnikov at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. As a solo performer and member of chamber music casts, she appears regularly in Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Serbia, in Croatia and Bohemia, and she also appeared in Romania, England, Australia and in China. Her debut album, Gemini, in 2007 became the first album of classical music in Slovenia. She has performed at the New Year’s Concert in the Union Hall in Ljubljana, and will begin her first independent world tour, performing in Cairo, Tel Aviv, Washington, New York, Ottawa, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Madrid, Berlin, Prague et al, in the first half of 2008.
Simon Krecic finished his diploma from piano in 2002 at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana as the last graduate of Professor Acija Bertonclja. In July 2005 he successfully concluded his postgraduate studies from piano at the High School of Art in Bern under Professor Aleksandra Madžarja. During his studies he received several awards and acknowledgments from international competitions. In addition to solo appearances, he devotes his time to chamber music where he cooperates with musicians of all generations including Aleksandar Madžar, Igor Mitrovic, Slokar Brass Trio, the Slavko Osterc Ensemble, and the Wind Instrument Quintet Slowind.
