Cecilia Oinas obtained her Master’s Degree from the Sibelius Academy’s Department of Composition and Music Theory in 2007. In spring 2008, she commenced post-graduate studies at the Sibelius Academy’s graduate school, with a focus on chamber music. From autumn 2008 onwards she has studied at the City University of New York's Graduate Center as a visiting post-graduate student. Oinas has taught music theory at the Sibelius Academy, the Sibelius High School and various music institutes in the Greater Helsinki area.
Oinas has studied piano at the Sibelius Academy with Carlos Juris, and chamber music and lied under the instruction of Ilmo Ranta. She has worked with several classical singers and played in various chamber music ensembles. Oinas has also actively performed the works of young Finnish composers such as Minna Leinonen and Adam Vilagi.
