Biography

The Cuban quintet CaribeNostrum was founded in 2014 by members of YOA Orchestra of the Americas. Violinists Jenny Peña Campo Field and Lisbet Sevila, violist Camila Berg, cellist Roberto Mario de la Masa, and clarinetist Arístides Porto are all recognized young Cuban musicians with vast musical experience ranging from classical to contemporary music. All have been members of professional orchestras such as the Camerata Romeu, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Lyceum Mozartiano of Havana, the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, Havana Symphony Orchestra, and the ballet and opera symphony orchestra of the Gran Teatro de la Habana. The repertoire of CaribeNostrum focuses on classical arrangements of Latin American works, performed in a fresh and enriching way. These works combine the virtuosic elements of classical music, jazz, and American folk tunes, creating an exciting concert experience for music lovers of all genres.
