Abraham Brody


Lithuanian-American musician, composer, and performer Abraham Brody creates unique multidimensional experiences for his audiences. Drawing inspiration from rituals, roots and folklore, he combines composition, improvisation and multimedia, pushing the boundaries between artist and audience, and challenging the traditional notions of a performer in the twenty-first century.

2017-18 Artist in Residence at National Sawdust, he was also chosen as WNYC's Jon Schaefer's 'Top 10 artists of 2017'. Recent highlights include debuts at the Southbank Centre (London), Public Theatre (New York), Vortex Club (London), Fondation Beyeler (Basel), Sziget Festival (Budapest), Lunga Arts Festival (Seydisfjordur), RichMix Cultural Foundation (London), Meyerhold Center (Moscow), Literturhaus (Copenhagen), Municipal Smetana Hall (Prague), Pace Gallery (London) as well as a residencies at the Barbican Centre (London) and Fabrika CCI (Moscow).

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Abraham Brody brings Lithuanian traditions into the contemporary music and collaborations he creates. Collaborating with Lithuanian vocal TRYS KETURIOSE (singing ancient ritual sutartines), Brody illuminates through a contemporary lense the strong connection to the ancient traditions that these cultures offer.
