The Cuban Cowboys


The Cuban Cowboys mix indie rock with traditional Cuban music, bringing post-punk passion straight to the heart of the Buena Vista Social Club.  Armed with mambo riffs, swooning surf guitar, a killer live show, and the dark stories of a Cuban family's exile, the band has steadily built a following across the U.S. Their new album, The Devil's Dance, is being produced by four-time Grammy nominee Greg Landau (Maldita Vecindad, Susana Baca, Patato Valdes,, and includes vocal performances by Alex Cuba. With a March 2010 release, the band hopes to keep winning fans and spreading the word about the World's Greatest Cuban Surf Rock Band. Their debut album, Cuban Candles, went to #15 on CMJ'sNew World Music charts and NPR named it among 2007 top-10 releases in California. Newsday said the album was “destined to become a classic intersection between roots rock and Cuban Son.”
