Nortec Panoptica Orchestra was created by Mexican producer Roberto A. Mendoza (a.k.a. Panoptica), former frontman for electro-industrial band Artefakto (1987-1999) and the electronica-fusion project Nortec Collective (1999-2008). In early 2008, Mendoza decided to record a new solo album to push and further develop the Nortec sound, working independently from the Tijuana collective. With new musical partners and special guests Javiera Mena, Khan Oral, and Yerba Buena, Nortec Panoptica Orchestra came to life with a new sonic story.
The ensemble was created in 2008 by Mexican producer Roberto A. Mendoza (a.k.a. Panoptica), former front man for electro-industrial band Artefakto and the electronica-fusion project Nortec Collective. Part of Celebrate Mexico 2010.
