Drew Gasparini was the recipient of the John Lennon Songwriters Award in 2006. Mr. Gasparini is a performing singer-songwriter as well as a composer and lyricist for theater. His work as a touring songwriter has been seen around the country where he has shared the stage with acts such as Jason Mraz, Third Eye Blind, and The Plain White T’s. As a musical theater composer Mr. Gasparini has contributed music and lyrics to the popular one-woman show, Hot Mess in Manhattan, as well as benefits for charity galas such as Broadway in South Africa. Mr. Gasparini is an alum of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre workshop and has written the music, lyrics and book for his shows Crazy, Just Like Me (winner of “Best Of Fest” and runner up for “Best Book” in the New York Musical Theatre Festival 2011), Above My Pay Grade (commissioned by Pfizer & Holt Learning), Circles (N.Y. reading this coming fall), and Inappropriate Stories Told At A Bar. Mr. Gasparini is currently working on the musical adaptation of the Henry James novella Turn Of The Screw (workshop at Fordham University) and his very own serial killer love story, Make Me Bad. Mr. Gasparini has been the featured composer for the National Alliance of Musical Theatre, and has also been featured by Contemporary Classics New Voices in Seattle, Scott Alan’s New Voices and The New York Theatre Barn in NYC. His music can be heard online and all over the country at concerts, benefits, and colleges.
