Atticus Mooney

Atticus draws on lifelong experience as a movement artist of various expressions when teaching. Yoga, as a wholesome system for wellness, first discovered her at age 12 while she was immersed in formal choreographed dance training. During her 500-hour yoga teacher training in Guatemala, freeform dance therapy found her; and so she synthesizes her appreciation of form and formless to curate classes for fellow students of yoga. She believes the magic lies within that grey area of transition and unknown. She facilitates asana classes that are playful and exploratory, as well as physically challenging and meditative. By offering creative, intelligent sequencing she allows space for students to experiment with their personal boundaries in physical, mental and emotional realms. Atticus earned her 200-hour certification with Yoga District in Washington D.C. and her 500-hour certification with SchoolYoga Institute in Guatemala. She is the visionary founder of Bhava DC, a community organization that aims to promote conscious connection with substance-free dance parties, sound healing and ceremonial cacao. She facilitates yoga classes and yoga teacher trainings internationally and continues to to be amazed by the power of the human body.
