Anna Nechaeva



Biography

Anna Nechaeva graduated from Saratov State Conservatory and took master classes with Elena Obraztsova, Makvala Kasrashvili, Liubov Orfenova, and Gemma Visser.

She is the laureate of Worldwide Madame Butterfly Competition in Chisinau (2nd Prize, 2007) and a nominee for the Golden Spotlight theatrical award for Rusalka in Rusalka (2010) and the Moscow Theatre Festival Award for Tatiana in Eugene Onegin (2004).

In 2012, Anna Nechaeva made her debut at Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, singing the role of Nastasya in The Enchantress and the same year she became a soloist with the ensemble of the Bolshoi company.
She performed Tatiana in Eugene Onegin (Mikhailovsky St Petersburg, Perm, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow), Lisa in The Queen of Spades (Stanislavsky Moscow, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow), Iolanta (Perm, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, All together Opera St Petersburg International Festival), Violetta in La traviata (Saint Petersburg Opera), Lauretta Gianni Schicchi and Liu in Turandot (Bolshoi Theatre Moscow), Nedda in Pagliacci, Katya Kabanova, Dvorak’s Rusalka (Mikhailovsky St Petersburg), Elizabeth in Tannhäuser (Freiburg) as well as the soprano parts in Berlioz’s The Childhood of Christ Oratorio and Rachmaninov’s The Bells Symphonic Poem (Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra), and Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 Resurrection (Perm).

Recent and upcoming engagements include Zemfira in Aleko and Francesca in Francesca da Rimini (La Monnaie, Brussels), Yaroslavna in Prince Igor, Élisabeth de Valois in Don Carlo and Nastasya in The Enchantress (Bolshoi Theatre Moscow), Manon in Manon Lescaut (Mikhailovsky St. Petersburg, Staatsoper Berlin), Aida (Stanislavsky Moscow), and Leonora in Il trovatore (Riga).
