For the 2009 Kennedy Center Spring Gala, May 3 in the Concert Hall, the Kennedy Center presents A Celebration of Women in the Arts, featuring an impressive array of female artists that have all shaped the collective landscape of culture and beyond. The evening includes appearances and performances by Stockard Channing, Jenn Colella, Suzanne Farrell, Judith Jamison, Patti LaBelle, k.d. lang, Annie Leibovitz, Midori, Julia Murney, Veronika Part, Dianne Reeves, LeAnn Rimes, Chita Rivera, Linda Celeste Sims of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Lily Tomlin, Vera Wang, and others, with the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by JoAnn Falletta.
