Over the course of two nights, cellist Sharon Robinson joins forces with pianist Anna Polonsky to perform the five sonatas for cello and piano of Beethoven, as well as the sets of variations he composed on themes by Mozart and Handel.

The Complete Works of Beethoven for Cello and Piano
 
Over the course of two nights (Mar. 22 & 23), cellist Sharon Robinson, of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, joins forces with pianist Anna Polonsky to perform the five sonatas for cello and piano of Beethoven, as well as the sets of variations he composed on themes by Mozart and Handel.
 
Winner of the Avery Fisher Recital Award, the Piatigorsky Memorial Award, the Pro Musicis Award, and a Grammy nominee, Robinson is recognized worldwide as a consummate artist and one of the most outstanding musicians of our time.
 
Pianist Polonsky is widely in demand as a soloist and chamber musician. She is a graduate of the Curtis Institute and the Juilliard School and a recipient of a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and the Andrew Wolf Chamber Music Award.

Note: due to injury, Anna Polonsky has replaced the previously scheduled Benjamin Hochman.

Performance Timing: Part One - 35 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 35 min.
