Recipient of a Sphinx Medal of Excellence, violinist Elena Urioste's last Fortas engagement was a "virtually flawless performance" (Washington Post). She returns with Avery Fisher Career Grant winner pianist Michael Brown, another star on the rise.

A recipient of the Medal of Excellence from the Sphinx Organization--a nationally regarded foundation dedicated to diversity in the arts--captivating young violinist Elena Urioste has been hailed for her lush tone, nuanced lyricism, and commanding stage presence. Her last Fortas engagement was "an exciting and virtually flawless performance" (The Washington Post). She returns with her frequent piano partner, Avery Fisher Career Grant winner Michael Brown, another dazzling star on the rise. The duo will release their highly anticipated debut recording together in 2016. 

Performance Timing: Part One - 38 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 35 min.
