Our beloved Chamber Ensemble-in-Residence commemorates 40 seasons since its official debut at President Carter's inauguration with a selection of favorites and a Fortas co-commissioned D.C. premiere from Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Taaffe Zwilich.

The Kennedy Center`s beloved Chamber Ensemble-in-Residence has been the reigning exemplar for the piano trio since its official 1977 debut at the White House for President Carter`s inauguration. Joseph Kalichstein, Jaime Laredo, and Sharon Robinson now commemorate 40 thrilling seasons of performing together with a pair of favorites plus a D.C. premiere by Pulitzer Prize–winning American composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, whose long relationship with the trio has yielded several masterful works created expressly for them.

Performance Timing: Part One - 45 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 60 min.

Note: Members of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio will sign CDs following the performance, in the lobby outside of the Family Theater.
