Performance Cancellation Notice

Washington Performing Arts regrets to announce the cancellation of Itzhak Perlman and Martha Argerich’s March 20 recital in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Argerich has cancelled all dates of her U.S. spring tour with Perlman, citing family and health concerns. In place of this concert, WPA will present Itzhak Perlman in recital with violinist/violist Pinchas Zukerman and pianist Rohan de Silva on May 23, 2018, at 8 .p.m in the Concert Hall, in a program the three artists were scheduled to begin touring this month.

Martha Argerich’s official statement
Dearest American Public,
I am very sorry having to cancel my upcoming tour in the United States with Itzhak Perlman, whom I deeply admire and with whom I love playing. Because of family and health problems, I cannot for the moment travel far and for extensive periods of time away from my home in Europe. Thank you very very much for your understanding. — Martha Argerich
