About

The Missa Solemnis stands alongside J.S. Bach's Mass in B Minor as one of the greatest settings of the Catholic Mass. Filled with awe and yet with defiance, Beethoven addresses the text with deep religious feelings but with a non-sectarian spirituality. Saul Lilienstein (who has conducted, sung, and lovingly studied this masterpiece) will share an inside understanding of the composer's work.
