About

The world's largest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is a crucible for the creation of new and experimental work, a place where talent is often unveiled. The Kennedy Center's ON THE FRINGE: Eye on Edinburgh celebrates the spirit of artistic entrepreneurship that exists in Edinburgh each summer in a showcase of some imaginative new work from that fertile environment. Presentations include theater, free performances on the Millennium Stage, performance art, and installations in the public spaces of the Center.

Ever looked at the moon and wondered how someone could ever get up there? One Small Step recreates the historic race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union to send the first man to the lunar surface. Produced by the U.K.'s Oxford Playhouse, this eccentric, funny, and surprisingly moving history lesson features two performers using a set of household objects to magically conjure dozens of characters as well as space pods and atom bombs. The Scotsman praises it as "profound and spellbinding!" Age 7 and up. Part of ON THE FRINGE: Eye on Edinburgh.
