Outside the Bachx
With Guest Concert Pianist Cristina Altamura and Guest Beat Boxer Gene Shinozaki
Wonder what Beethoven and beatboxing would sound like together? How about a rap-off with Rachmaninoff? Or Debussy on a drum machine? Well, get ready for classical music and hip-hop to collide in full force with the world premiere of Outside the Bachx! Following their white-hot moves in last season's family production of Fresh Noise: A Mashup of Youth Voices--Game On!, Rokafella, Kwikstep, and the rest of the crew are back with a funky twist on everyone's favorite "old-school" composers. Hailed by the New York Times for their "choreographically sophisticated [and] daringly acrobatic" performances that bring "the gritty vibrancy of New York streets" to audiences of all ages, Full Circle Productions jams together hip-hop dancers, a DJ, a concert pianist, spoken word, classical remixes, and more for a show guaranteed to blow Mozart's powdered wig straight off his head!
For age 8 and up.
Performance Timing: 60 minutes, with no intermission.
